Volunteer Opportunities and Needs

At Mariposa, volunteers turn good ideas into great experiences. Our PTO is about community—not just fundraising—so staff can do their best work and students thrive. When families pitch in—even an hour—kids do better and you feel more connected. Whether you have 30 minutes at home or want to help run an event, there’s a spot for you—Check what interests you and we’ll follow up with easy ways to help. Expressing interest isn’t a commitment—just a first step—and it’s meaningful and fun.

 

As part of our Keep Kyrene Strong effort, we’re focused on keeping enrollment strong, protecting beloved programs, and lifting family voices across Kyrene. When we volunteer, we also tell Mariposa’s story—welcoming new families, sharing accurate information, showing up at district forums, partnering with staff, and pitching in with the Kyrene Resource Center. Together, we keep Kyrene strong and make sure every child has a thriving place to learn.

Our fourth annual Trunk or Treat event is taking place on Friday, October 24, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.  We are seeking families/teachers/ businesses to sign up as hosts for a decorated trunk at this event.

Kyrene Long-Range Planning Speakers at Public Hearings

Reach out to Melissa if you would like to be a part of an organized group speaking at this hearing. We might also recommend attending/speaking at the Pueblo and Aprende hearings. You can also stream all of these meetings online.

Help us make this year's Scholastic Book Fair a success! We need enthusiastic volunteers for various tasks to create a fun atmosphere and promote literacy.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Setup and Breakdown: Assist with setup and packing up.

  • Cashier Support: Manage sales and transactions.

  • Book Sorting: Organize and display books.

  • Customer Assistance: Guide students and parents.

  • Promotional Activities: Engage with students and promote events.
